This BMW X1 Series required a new windscreen in Paignton.

A straightforward job with new trims, although it is critical to make sure the new windscreen is installed to the correct height. If the windscreen is set too high it will cause wind noise.

The method which we find most effective at Devon Windscreens is to check the height of the original windscreen first with a special windscreen height adjustment tool. After carefully making a note of the height setting we proceed to remove the old windscreen and install the new one. Once the new windscreen has been bonded in, we simply place the height adjustment tool against the new glass and then apply a gentle pressure to the windscreen and lower it to the correct height thus matching the original windscreen and preventing wind noise.

If you have a BMW and it has wind noise coming from the windscreen, it has probably had a replacement windscreen which hasn’t been installed to the correct height. This is quite a common problem on BMW windscreens and will require the windscreen to be removed and refitted correctly.
