New windscreen on a Ford Fiesta due to the mirror being glued to the screen incorrectly causing the laminated glass to crack under stress.
The older Ford interior mirrors are light weight and usually held on with a sticky pad, sometimes these let go and the DIY’ers decide to super glue or araldite these back on. This isn’t advisable as most glues contract as they dry and this puts stress on a laminated windscreen resulting in a cracked mirror.
If you contact your local windscreen company these mirrors can be restuck to the windscreen for a much lower cost with the correct sticky pad. If the mirror was extremely problematic then it can even been glued on with the correct glue which all windscreen companies keep in stock. Windscreen replaced and mirror re-attached with the standard mirror pad
