Toyota HiAce Rear Window
After breaking a Toyota HiAce rear window in Liverton this customer contacted Autoglass and was quoted around £600 for a replacement glass or a six-week wait for a non heated glass from Japan. Although the normal heated rear glass would fit the vehicle Autoglass wouldn’t fit it as the original glass was un-heated leaving the customer with either a very expensive bill or a long wait.
When I worked for Autoglass we would have phoned the insurance company and obtained authorisation to fit the heated glass as sourcing an imported window from Japan would be far more expensive.
We received the call and fitted a new heated rear window the following working day at a fraction of the cost. As you can see from the picture a six-week wait would be unacceptable.
