BMW 5 Series Rear Window Remove and Refit
A rear windscreen remove and refit for Westcountry Trimmers in Bovey Tracey.
This back window needed to be removed to enable the local trimmers to remove the car headliner and re-cover it, often as cars age the headlining glue fails and the lining starts to sag. Some of the headlinings won’t fit out through the car doors without creasing, so it is easier to remove either the front or rear windscreen and then pass the headline out through the hole. Our preferred choice is generally the rear window as these are generally toughened and far less likely to break, whereas a laminated older windscreen is quite fragile and likely to crack upon removal.
This BMW 5 series E34 is in immaculate condition. The windscreen would have probably broken so we removed the rear window, most of the clips broke and BMW charge around £4 a clip, our supplier still stocks the windscreen clips for around £6 a bag and luckily they fit the rear as well as the front windscreen.
