Megane Windscreen Chip Repair
Today we repaired a combination break on a Renault Megane windscreen, initially it was a straightforward repair but after around 10 minutes a small amount of trapped air wouldn’t disappear. After running through the air removal process it was still there, the next option was to raise the ambient temperature to around 20°C.
After getting the correct temperature and running the windscreen chip repair machine for a further 10 minutes, the trapped air disappeared and a perfect windscreen repair was achieved.
Temperature is one of the most critical aspects of a windscreen chip repair. Too cold and the resin doesn’t flow into the stone chip very well, too hot and the windscreen chip is likely to crack!
